Certifications

BPI Certified Building Analyst and Envelope Professional: As certified BPI (Building Performance Institute) Building Analyst and Envelope Professionals, we have had training in BPI's house-as-a-system approach and are kept conscientiously up-to-date (BPI requires Building Analysts to be re-certified every three years). As BPI Professionals we are certified to conduct blower-door tests, combustion safety inspections, tests for carbon monoxide, duct leakage testing and airflow testing. RESNET Certified HERS Rater: As certified HERS raters, we are able to qualify new ENERGY STAR homes and do the diagnostic work for federal Energy Efficient Mortgages (for new homes) and Energy Improvement Mortgages (for existing homes).  The rigorous HERS curriculum provides extensive training in building science, home performance and solutions for problem homes, all of which help us give homeowners cost-effective solutions to comfort and efficiency problems plus help builders construct comfortable, efficient and healthy ENERGY STAR homes.  Both RESNET and BPI have demanding continuing education requirements that keep us up-to-date with the latest technology and information on building science and high-performance homes.  

NAHBGreen Verification:  A step beyond ENERGY STAR, NAHBGreen homes have strict requirements for green practices in lot and site development, resource efficiency, energy efficiency, water efficiency, indoor environmental quality and homeowner education.  We are third-party verifiers for NAHBGreen.
